The Problem
Homeowner had musty smell in master bedroom for months. Couldn't find the source. Air fresheners masked it temporarily.
Detection Method
Thermal imaging of the shared wall between bathroom and bedroom identified a cool, damp area 1m wide — moisture behind the drywall. Acoustic correlation on the shower supply lines detected a slow leak at a soldered joint inside the wall.
Results
200mm x 200mm drywall patch at the exact location. Joint re-soldered. Drywall patched and painted. Odour gone within a week.
